Refraction Media, a dynamic content and communications agency specialising in STEM, is seeking a creative and efficient writer, preferably with a Science, Engineering or Technology degree, and a knack for social media to help grow our Careers with STEM brand. If you’re a social-savvy storyteller with 2+ years of experience in content creation, newsletters, SEO, and digital campaigns—and you love STEM and know how to speak to a youth audience—this role is for you!

In this position, you’ll contribute to our mission of inspiring the next generation of STEM enthusiasts, while growing your digital marketing and content production skills.

What you’ll do

  • Content creation: Write engaging copy for print and digital channels, including magazines, social posts, quizzes, and profiles, optimised for SEO all about STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths)
  • Newsletter management: Craft and distribute weekly newsletters for youth, teachers, and parents
  • Social media engagement: Create consistent, on-brand posts across platforms to connect with our audiences
  • Campaign setup and reporting: Assist with digital ad campaigns (training provided) and report on analytics to track engagement and performance
  • Print contributions: Contribute to magazines, job kits, and more

What you’ll bring

  • Experience: 2+ years in publishing, media, or marketing, ideally with a focus on youth or STEM content
  • Digital skills: Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Google Ads, Analytics, and social scheduling tools
  • Creativity & enthusiasm: A talent for speaking to a youth audience with a relatable, upbeat tone and a passion for STEM storytelling
  • Remote team player: Thrives in a small, collaborative team and is comfortable working remotely
