Project Description
Produced for ANSTO during the 2014 International Year of Crystallography, Crystallography Curiosity Files is an educational resource for classrooms that looks at some of the careers involving crystallography, how crystallography works, as well as some of its applications. Crystallography can be used to probe the microscopic characteristics of ice to predict glacier movement rates, and it can also be used to probe the very macroscopic – the icy characteristics of the moons orbiting Jupiter. This resource is aimed at students in Year 9, encouraging them to improve their literacy, numeracy and critical thinking.
